Tell us about yourself.
I am the CEO, Cinematographer, editor, and creative director at M.R Media. I've worked on projects for brands and corporations such as Chevy, Buick, GMC, Toyota, Coventry Homes, The Cities of Edmonton and Banff, and much more.
What made you choose to become a cinematographer?
I've always had an eye for creating visually encapsulating films. I realized everyone and everything has its own story. I wanted to bring those stories to fruition so people can cherish them for generations to come. Growing up, I've always loved going to the cinemas and watching newly released films. I would analyze every detail of every scene and wonder how they were created. My curiosity sparked my interest. I started investing in my art and quickly turned it into a reality.
What’s the most difficult aspect of being a cinematographer?
The most difficult aspect of cinematography would have to be the mentality of it all. This industry requires skill, creativity, and proper time management. Skill comes with time, and creativity comes with momentum, and proper time management comes with commitment and dedication. If you can master these three aspects of life, you can accomplish anything!

Since you started, how have you grown, and what have you learned?
I feel that I've grown in a way where I've built a sense of trust in my community. Choosing the right cinematographer to capture your wedding day is no easy task. You get one chance and one shot to capture it to the best of your ability. I've structured my business so that my team and I have all the details and equipment refined, ready, and available at all times.
Who or what has been your biggest inspiration?
For me, inspiration comes from fellow artists and cinematographers alike. However, I am a huge advocate for being inspired in the moment. A quote I've learned to live by is by an award-winning author by the name of Bruce Garrabrandt. The quote is as follows: "Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones". This spoke worldly to me. In a sense, just live in the moment, and let your inspiration transpire.
