Rosie Taha

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a single Muslim mom of two young men; I am driven and passionate about what I do. I work really hard to support my family and give my sons the best life possible. As for what I do, I am a certified fitness trainer and have been in that industry for over 20 years. I'm also an event coordinator and a female Arab DJ.

I am the creator and owner of Rosie T Productions, which creates and host many events, such as my grand bazaars, ladies’ nights, corporate events, and Arab festivals.

I also work with many charitable organizations, such as Human Concern International and The Fragile Mind, and I went with those organizations to Lebanon twice for volunteer work, which was an incredible experience.

What Motivated you to create Rosie T Productions

I started ladies’ night about 15 years ago. And the idea was to bring women together in a safe, comfortable and fun environment. My events and work since then, such as my fitness training and ladies’ events, are about women’s empowerment.

I’m an influencer in the Arab community, and I love working with our community and helping showcase their talent and ideas. My bazaars showcase the Arab and larger Muslim community and their businesses, which help to bring us all together. I have over 65 vendors in one room over two days, with many diverse and interesting products from all over the community, such as jewelry, food, clothing and more, as well as over 2500 shoppers.

Out of all the events Rosie T Productions has done, have there been any memorable moments?

Each event is different, which is what I like about doing them. Each event has been unique, whether it’s the women empowerment, the bazaars, ladies’ nights and the Arab festivals. I have also been all over Canada with my events, and every experience is new and interesting and has a different feeling and vibe.

Can you describe the type of experience you hope to create for the people that come to your events? What makes them special and unique?

Each event is unique, the bazaars are for everyone, and ladies' nights are for women. But all of them are fun and inclusive, and the lady’s nights are very special as they allow women to be free, safe and feel comfortable to be themselves and have fun.

When you attend my events, you get the Rosie T Experience; ultimately, it’s a bit indescribable as you have to attend to understand them. I work very hard at them, and my job is to make sure everyone is having a good time and enjoying themselves, and getting something out of it. I think they help to bring the community together, and you get a lot of interaction with people who are there to have a fun and enjoyable time together.

What inspires you to do so many different roles, from being a fitness trainer to event planning, being a DJ etc.?

I think it’s because our community is so diverse and big, and I enjoy being active and bringing all this diversity together. I have clients who are Muslims as well as non-Muslims for my boot camps. I enjoy helping people and being a fitness trainer. Especially as a fitness trainer, I enjoy helping people achieve their goals and bringing women together in a safe environment to help them better themselves.

A long time ago, I used to do mixed events, and I would get asked if I could do ladies’ events a lot, and I took that as a sign to not only do ladies' events but to focus on helping women become more empowered with every type of event I do.
